Software development, delivered in stages you can see.
We take on a small number of engagements at a time and run each one through the same six-stage process. Below is what we build and how the work is contracted.
Custom platforms
Web and mobile applications built to a written specification you have approved, on a stack chosen for your operating environment rather than our habits. Typical engagements: a platform to replace a manual process end to end, or a product a client intends to take to market.
Clinical and research data systems
Structured data capture for clinical practice and research, designed around validated instruments, auditability, and the reality of how practitioners work. We build these with clinical leads in the room, and we treat deviations from a validated instrument as a clinical decision, not a design choice.
Business operations tooling
Systems that give a management team a clear view of its own operation: task and workflow capture, reporting dashboards, and the data plumbing underneath. Built for businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets and chat threads but do not need enterprise software.
Integration and automation
Connecting the systems you already run, accounting, messaging, storage, reporting, so that data is entered once and used everywhere. Includes automation of recurring, rule-based work.
How an engagement runs
Frame: we write down the problem, the audience, and what “done” means. Dependency Check: we identify what the work depends on, including platform terms, licences, and data obligations, before committing. Decide: you approve scope, cost, and ownership in writing. Architecture: we design the system and record the decisions. Paper: the agreement is signed. Build: we deliver against the agreed specification with acceptance criteria you set.
Nothing is built before it is decided, and nothing is decided before its dependencies are known.
How the work is contracted
Client work is delivered as work-for-hire under a written services agreement. The client owns the delivered software and its intellectual property. Fees are fixed per stage or per scope, agreed before the stage begins.
